To ensure the program’s success, Shoebuy.com will donate a guaranteed minimum of $10,000 to the Komen Foundation. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women. This year more than 213,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women and men in the US, and more than 41,000 will die from the disease. Thankfully, the breast cancer death rate has been dropping about 2% annually since 1990 in all women combined, and even more rapidly in women younger than 50 years old. The decline is attributed to early detection through screening, increased awareness and improved treatment and increased funding.
